The Argonaut: Open Mar Vista offers free wireless Internet to residents

The Argonaut Newspaper ran a story on free “Open Mar Vista” Wi-Fi for neighborhood residents in Mar Vista.

Open Mar Vista, is a community effort to provide free high-speed wireless Internet access is being provided for free beyond the doors of local shops and businesses and in the neighborhoods.

Local businesses are sharing their broadband service in the neighborhood, with participants including the Venice Grind café, Soaptopia, the Curious Palate, Time Warp Music, Good Hurt music club, Vineyard Christian Fellowship, and the Coffee Connection.

Mar Vista Community Council chair Rob Kadota said “If we can try to help get more people connected we can become a more vibrant community.”

Los Councilman Bill Rosendahl said “This is a natural extension of a strategy that will continue to bring Mar Vista residents together.”
